LA Woman Arrested For Sneaking Into Airport Terminal Twice This Week

A Los Angeles woman was arrested for the second time this week at LAX airport after sneaking into an airport terminal without a ticket on Thursday.

Airport Police Chief Patrick Gannon had a feeling it wouldn't be the last time he'd see Marilyn Hartman, 62, sneaking on a plane. As a precaution, the chief handed out fliers bearing her picture to airport workers, as The Associated Press reported.

TSA officials told CBS News that although she slipped past security, she was never considered a threat to the flight.

Gannon's instincts were correct: Hartman was arrested after attempting to sneak on a plane for the second time this week on Thursday, less than 24 hours after she pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of trespassing. She'd been previously ordered to stay away from Los Angeles International Airport unless she had a valid plane ticket. She was also placed on 24 months of probation.

When Hartman left the courtroom, she vowed never to try to sneak on a plane again.

After Hartman arrived at LAX yesterday, airport workers noticed her going back and forth to several different terminals.

"In what appeared to be she was scouting them out," Gannon told My Fox LA. "She did not try to get inside TSA screening at any of the terminals but was very cognizant how each of the terminals were laid out."

She was arrested in Terminal 7 for violating the conditions of her probation.

This week saw two of Hartman's many arrests for sneaking onto airplanes. In February, the 62-year-old was arrested for attempting to board three Hawaii-bound flights from San Francisco on three separate days. In 2010 she made it on a flight before getting caught at the baggage claim on the Hawaiian island Kauai.

Similarly to her statement after court Tuesday, Hartman told CBS Los Angeles, "It was stupid, and it's something I don't want to repeat. It was clearly wrong on my part, and I certainly don't want to do it again because I certainly don't want to do any jail time."

Despite her several arrests, she has fans online. In the last five months, $1,340 was raised on Go Fund Me to buy her a plane ticket to finally get her to Hawaii.
