Beyonce is scheduled to perform at this year's MTV Video Music Awards and will also receive a special award on August 24, E! Online announced on Thursday.
The "Flawless" singer is currently on tour with husband Jay-Z. She is in the running for eight Moonman awards this year, more than any other solo musician or band. "Drunk in Love," featuring Jay-Z, is up for Video of the Year, against rapper Iggy Azalea, and Best Collaboration, GMA News reported. At the same time, "Partition" is in the running for Best Female Video and Best Choreography. "Pretty Hurts" is also nominated for Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Video with a social message.
She is also being awarded with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the highest honor of the VMAs, according to Live 101.5.
Right now, fans are still speculating on Beyonce's song choice for her performance, along with who she might bring out on stage to join her. Husband Jay-Z, fellow Destiny's Child alumnus, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift were all possibilities thrown out by Billboard.
Beyonce shocked and excited her fans when she released a top-secret self-titled visual album at the end of 2013 that included 17 music videos.
This year's VMA awards will be Beyonce's fifth time performing at the late summer event. She sang "Baby Boy/Crazy in Love" in 2003, "Ring the Alarm" in 2006, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" in 2009 and "Love on Top" in 2011.
As a solo artist, Beyonce has garnered 35 Moonman nominations on top of the seven nominations she grabbed as a member of Destiny's Child. Over the course of her career, Beyonce has won 11 Moonman awards, including Video of the Year in 2009 for "Single Ladies," according to E! Online.
Other musicians scheduled to bring down the house include Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift and Usher.
