Mark-Paul Gosselaar Slams Dustin Diamond's 'Saved by the Bell' Negative Tell-All About Behind-the-Scenes Drama

Mark-Paul Gosselaar isn't too happy about his former "Saved by the Bell" co-star Dustin Diamond's tell-all book about his time on the hit 90's show.

Gosselaar and actor Breckin Meyer stopped by HuffPost Live Wednesday to promote the fourth season of their hit show, "Franklin & Bash" - however the conversation quickly changed into Diamond's 2009 book, "Behind the Bell."

"Everything that I've heard about his book is negative and I don't remember those things," Gosselaar said. "My experience on the show was very positive and that's why when people say, 'Oh, you don't like talking about it.' It's like, No, I don't mind talking about it, I just don't really remember that time, and also everything I do remember was extremely positive."

Gosselaar, who played Zack Morris, said Diamond wrote the book from "his perspective."

In the book Diamond, who played Samuel "Screech" Powers on the show, claimed that the show was one wild sex-and-drug orgy behind the scenes - recalling one moment when he smelled smoke coming from one of his cast members' dressing room.

Diamond also accused Gosselaar of using steroids to make his character look more attractive during the production of "Saved by the Bell: The College Years." He further revealed that his former co-stars were sexually active with one another off-camera.

Meyer, who was not apart for the popular series, also shared his disappointment in the book.

"That guy is such a d--k. I need to say it," Meyer said. "The Dustin thing is just so silly. It's just so negative and it always bums me out. I know Elizabeth [Berkley] and Tiffani [Thiessen] and Mario [Lopez] and everyone has nothing but awesome [things] to say about that [show], except for Dustin. That might be you, bro."

The book is reportedly being used as the center piece for Lifetime's upcoming TV movie "The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story", which is set to premiere Sept. 1.
