Paige VanZant to Debut as UFC's Youngest Female Fighter

20-year-old Paige VanZant is set to compete in her first UFC match as the youngest woman to fight in the octagon.

After not being allowed to participate in Season 20 of "The Ultimate Fighter," VanZant will face off against Kailin Curran at UFC Fight Night on Oct. 4th in Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to Yahoo! Sports. The event will also see VanZant join the UFC as the second-youngest fighter on the roster.

Having yet to compete this year, VanZant holds a 3-1 record, with her last victory being over Courtney Himes in a fight VanZant won via rear naked choke.

VanZant also works as a model and dancer, and was originally supposed to be part of "The Ultimate Fighter" after Invicta acquired her contract late last year, FOXSports.com reported. However, she was unable to take part in the show since competitors have to be at least 21 years old due to the chance of alcohol being brought into the house.

While 23-year-old Curran also possesses little experience in pro MMA, she began her amateur career in 2010. The Hawaii native has won all of her fights by decision, with her most recent victory being over Yoo Jin Jung at Pacific Xtreme Combat 42 in February.

Season 20 will see the UFC crown its first 115-pound women's champion, Yahoo! Sports reported.

In addition to VanZant's debut, UFC Fight Night will also see No.1 bantamweight contender Raphael Assuncao fight Bryan Caraway. Assuncao won his last six fights, while Caraway won his last two.
