A dog in Ireland won't be sleeping in the dog house anymore. That's right - a cute ball of fur did some investigating and discovered a stolen bike that belonged to his owner's brother.
While on a walk with owner Lydia O'Byrne, Freddie, a 3-year-old pup, diverted off of their usual route.
"Freddie stopped shortly after starting Lap 2 and started to pull down a path that we don't usually walk down," Lydia wrote in her blog.
After failed attempts to deter him, Lydia decided to follow Freddie. "I gave him a little tug on the lead and expected him to skip along after me like he usually does, but he was adamant. So I followed him as he sniffed vigorously in the bushes," Lydia wrote.
That's when the pair came across something that had been stolen--make no bones about it.
"I peered into the spot that he was sniffing and what did I see... My brother Gavin's bike that had been stolen from my car a couple of weeks ago!!! So proud of our detective dog. Never underestimate the instinct of our furry friends, they are truly incredible! I'm astounded! All the treats for Freddie today!"
