Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date: Phone Could Get an Upgrade to a 13 MP Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to be released in the second half of the year. One expected feature on the phone is a brand new camera, according to GottaBeMobile.com.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features an 8.0 mega-pixel rear camera with a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera. The Note 3 is expected to carry a powerful 13 MP camera—the same camera featured on the Samsung Galaxy S4 that is set to hit stores June 7.

Rumors concerning the Galaxy Note 3 have been circulating for months. Since the Galaxy 4S has been confirmed, marketed on TV, and has a release date, more speculation has been focused on the Note 3.

Currently, rumors and speculation say the phone will have a display about six inches, a design similar to the Galaxy S4, and an Exynos 5 Octa processor.

The rumor mill buzzed recently after what appeared to be the Galaxy Note 3 appeared on AnTuTu benchmark. The device labeled GT-N7200—the device is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S4—is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and being powered by an Exynos 5 chipset—created by Samsung—running at 1.6 GHz.

Notes typically have overclocked chipsets compared to their Galaxy S counterparts, so we expect the finished product to be clocked higher than 1.6GHz,” GSM Arena pointed out.

Many believe the Galaxy S3 will debut sometime in the third quarter at the IFA conference in Berlin. The conference takes place from September 6-11.

Despite the benchmark evidence and other rumors, it is important to keep in mind that the Note 3 is most likely a few months away from a launch. This means the many of the speculated features could change from now till later in the year.
