Microsoft's 'Snipp3t' App Becomes New Celebrity Stalking Tool

Microsoft released a new app Saturday designed to be a new tool for stalking your favorite celebrities.

The app, dubbed "Snipp3t," lets users obtain a variety of information about what celebrities are doing, such as personalized headlines and social media feeds, according to PC Magazine. The app considers just about everyone to be a celebrity, including Charles Manson.

The Redmond, Washington-based company said users can get news about different actors, musicians and athletes by clicking on their picture, adding that they can click on news stories to get news articles, photos, videos and mentions of the person in social media.

Snipp3t operates similar to Bing and focuses exclusively on searches for different famous people, Gizmodo reported. Users have to sync their Facebook accounts with the app in order to get the latest news about their favorite stars.

Syncing their Facebook accounts also lets users see the celebrities that their friends are following, PC Magazine reported. This feature provides users with the option to talk to friends and other subscribers about their opinions of these stars, no matter how positive or negative they may be.

While Snipp3t is designed to work with iPhones, it is capable of working with iPads, as well. Microsoft has yet to announce when, or if, it will make the app available for Android or Windows phones, or if the app will be introduced only for iOS devices or released exclusively for the company's own mobile operating system.
