It's wouldn't be surprising at all that the CEO of Mr. Cory's Cookies regularly talks about expansion plans, marketing, and customer satisfaction – except for the fact that this company's CEO, Cory Nieves, is only 9 years old.
What started as a cookie stand in 2009 with a goal of helping his mom buy a new car so he wouldn't have to ride the bus anymore, has blossomed into a thriving business for Nieves.
"He loves checking his emails. He's really ongoing with it. He learns math really well with his business – more than in school," Lisa Howard, Nieves' mother tells ABC News. "Sometimes, the school he goes to incorporates what he does into the curriculum. The kids love it."
Nieves' business wasn't without it's rough start. He was originally reported to the health department and became discouraged, but the young entrepreneur used the opportunit to learn how to legally grow his business. This summer, while getting ready to start the 5th grade, Nieves has been booked solid for events where he will make his famous treats.
"It's really fun and you get to eat a lot of cookies," he told ABC News. "I just want to make it expand and let everyone have cookies."
His favorite cookie is the chocolate chip. Nieves' came up with the recipe himself. But he told ABC News that one of his other favorites is his sugar-free oatmeal raisin cookie.
Not only is Nieves' a successful business man at the age of 9, but he is also a rising fashion icon.
He is favorite things to wear are suits, linen pants and shirts, sports coats and Oxfords. In fact, he recently told Huffington Post that every man needs to own a suit, pocket square and a classic watch.
Nieves' cookies are available to order on his website, and his impeccable fashion sense can be appreciated on Instagram.
