Former Lakers center, Shaquille O'Neal, may have been a dominant player on the floor, but he was also a prankster in the locker room.
During a segment on ESPN's True Hoop, former Suns assistant coach, Alvin Gentry, revealed that O'Neal, who is trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - the base style of Mixed Martial Arts, performed disturbing pranks while in the locker room, one of which included naked wrestling, Yahoo Sports reported.
In an attempt to sharpen his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills, the former NBA player would ambush his teammates by running and tackling them with nothing but a smile on his face.
Gentry said the pranks went on "every few days."
"The thing that he did that he got to be notorious for is that, every few days or every week or so, he would decide that it was time for this Brazilian naked wrestling contest," Gentry said. "You would never know who the chosen one was, but what would happen when you least expect it, this 7-foot, 310-pound guy would turn the corner, and he would be stark naked and he would run right at you full speed, grab you, he would take you to the floor and then he would do about five rollovers with you."
Gentry mentioned that the trainers were informed of O'Neal's practicing ahead of time, just in case they needed to intervene. "[The trainers] were always prepared for it, but you never knew who it was going to be."
The former coach admitted that he was a victim of one of O'Neal's surprise attacks and joked that he "had to go to therapy a bit after that."
After retiring in 2011, O'Neal got involved in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
