Selena Gomez was taken over with emotion after accepting her 2014 Teen Choice Awards Sunday night!
Us Weekly reported that the 22-year-old singer and actress was honored with the Ultimate Choice Award for her work in the entertainment industry - including her roles in music, movies and the popular kids television program, "Wizards of Waverly Place."
"Thank you so much! I have to be honest, especially this month, I cannot thank you guys [enough] because you remind amidst all the stuff that we deal with personally, you remind me of what's important, and that's giving and loving and caring about each other," Gomez said in her speech. "I'm not trying to preach or any of that. It's that you guys make me better and I really appreciate everything that you've done."
The "Come and Get It" hitmaker received her surfboard from hosts Sarah Hyland and Tyler Posey. She became emotional when thanking her mother for helping her with her career.
"I want to thank my mom so much because she's the greatest human being in the world," Gomez said. "She's strong and she's given up her life for me and she's so beautiful. I want all of you to love your mom and give her everything, because she's incredible."
Gomez, who wore an Yves Saint Laurent black pantsuit, completed her speech by saying: "This [award] is for you, this never belongs to me, this always goes to you. Thank you for letting me do what I love!"
Previous winners of the Ultimate Choice award include Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Ashton Kutcher, Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kristen Stewart.
