Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch Investigated For Involvement in Alleged Assault

An assault allegedly involving Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is being investigated by the Bellevue Police Department.

The incident included personal property damage and was said to have taken place early Sunday morning, according to The Seattle Times. A female alleged the suspect was "Marshawn T. Lynch." The claim did not involve domestic violence or sexual assault. Terrell is Lynch's middle name.

Seth Tyler, a spokesman for BPD, said the department will speak to Lynch as part of the investigation.

"We will be reaching out to him yes, absolutely," Tyler said. He added that he did not know when the discussions will take place.

"This is only an allegation. We haven't even verified that he was involved."

Lynch's past arrests include pleading guilty to misdemeanors twice while part of the Bills: one for a hit-and-run complaint in January 2008 and another for a concealed weapon charge in February 2009, Yahoo! Sports reported. The second charge resulted in him being suspended for three games at the start of the 2010 season.

The four-time pro Bowler also pleaded guilty to reckless driving after a DUI arrest in July 2012 and received two years probation. The plea took place only two weeks after the Seahawks' Super Bowl XLVIII victory against the Denver Broncos.

The department said the case is an active investigation and is currently being handled by a detective. A spokesman for the Seahawks said the team has not offered a comment on the situation, Yakima Herald-Republic reported.

Lynch, 28, participated in the Seahawks' practice last Sunday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, which coach Pete Carroll later said was "a very good practice."
