Robin Williams died from asphyxiation when he hanged himself inside of his California home on Monday, TMZ reported.
Sources close to the family haven't heard anything about the possibility of a suicide note, and it appears that the Oscar-winning comedian did not leave one. Williams most likely killed himself inside the main portion of his home, TMZ stated.
"A forensic examination is currently scheduled for Aug. 12, 2014 with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted," The Marin County Coroner said, according to ABC News.
Last month, Williams was attending rehab at the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota, after previously being admitted in 2006, Mashable stated.
He was married to Susan Schneider and leaves behind three children - Zachary Pym "Zak," 31, Zelda Rae, 24, and Cody Alan, 21, all of whom are from his two previous marriages.
"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," Schneider said.
One of the actor's last public appearances was in June at the San Francisco Zoo where they named one of their howler monkeys "Robin" in his honor, TMZ reported.
Williams has starred in well-known movies like "Good Will Hunting," "The Birdcage" and "Mrs. Doubtfire." He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor three times and has received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes and five grammies. His latest films are set to come out in the next 12 months, including two this upcoming holiday season: "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" and "Merry Friggin' Christmas."
