Viewers of professional wrestling may like their action to be hard-core, but please don't live tweet pictures of your burnt hand, Hulk Hogan.
The incident happened on Sunday. Hogan's first tweet about it was: "Just had a radiator explode on my hand, OUCH. HH." The picture that accompanied it showed the swollen and blistered fingers of his left hand.
More tweets and gruesome pictures of the injury followed: "Double OUCH. HH"; "Triple OUCH. HH"; "I at the ER now at Tampa General Hospital. HH"; "Dr at work. HH"; "Getting cut on brother. HH"; "Skined like a cat. HH"; "Slimed like a cat. HH"; "Would you like it rare? HH"
The semi-retired wrestler and avid tweeter and retweeter later apologized for posting the pictures on the social network.
"I apologize for posting my burned hand photos, with all the feedback I now realize I really should take a moment before I make a decision. HH," tweeted Hogan.
In a call to "TMZ Live", 59-year-old Hogan explained how the injury transpired.
"The accident occurred Sunday when his speedboat overheated. Hulk says he tried to be a badass and tried to hit the radiator release valve with his bare hands, and the radiator cap popped off ... burning the bejesus out of his hand. In the words of Hulk, 'It was the dumbest thing I've ever done'," quotes the article on www.tmz.com.
Hogan isn't new to gaffes on Twitter. Earlier this year, he came under fire for posting a picture of his daughter in a short dress with the caption "Brooke's legs", with people deeming it inappropriate. Hogan didn't take the criticism lying down. "Brooke works out for 2hrs a day, a fan takes a picture, Brooke love it, tweets back thank u, proud dad tweets it, creeps and perverts everywhere," he tweeted as a rejoinder.
Hogan, born Terry Bollea, is considered one of the greats of professional wrestling. His TNA profile reads: "'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan is regarded as the biggest superstar in the history of professional wrestling. He is a multi-time World Heavyweight Champion and a worldwide celebrity. Hogan has transcended the sport of wrestling - including television and movies - as a generation of Americans grew up as fans of "Hulkamania." Hogan joined TNA Impact Wrestling in 2009 and continues to be a major force in the sport he helped bring to the pinnacle of popularity."
