According to blogger Reality Steve, Chris Soules is officially the next "Bachelor" and has already signed a contract with ABC. The blogger made the announcement via Twitter on Aug. 9.
"It's official. Chris Soules will be the next 'Bachelor.' Signed contract couple days ago & been filmed the last 2 days in Iowa," he tweeted. "Not sure when ABC will make their official announcement (prob not til September), but it's Chris. Any reports it's Nick [Viall] or Arie [Luyendyk] aren't true."
Soules was last seen looking for love on Andi Dorfman's season of the "Bachelorette." The TV blogger has long said Soules would be the 2015 "Bachelor," in fact he initially made the announcement back in June, one month after Dorfman's season started airing.
"[Harrison's] already pumping up America for good 'ol country boy millionaire, Chris Soules," Reality Steve wrote at the time. "Not too hard to figure it out. Just like I said with Andi before Juan Pablo's season started, I'll say the same thing with Chris: this is his gig if he wants it. Sure the show will do their song and dance and ask their audience who they'd like, who are their favorites and they'll talk about what a tough decision they have. It'll be just to drum up interest in the franchise. It's Chris' gig to lose."
Former "Bachelorette" Desiree Hartsock seems to agree with Reality Steve and previously blogged that Soules would be a good choice for the next "Bachelor."
"The attraction between Andi and Chris is definitely apparent as she goes in for the kiss while dancing. I imagine him staying a long time, but if he doesn't end up as Andi's then I think he would make a great Bachelor. "
Dorfman, who handed her final rose to Josh Murray, took to Twitter to defend her reasoning for sending Soules home on the July 14 episode but also hinted that she was doing America a favor.
"Hate me now but you'll love me later when and if you are lucky enough to get a chance with Chris #TheBachelorette #breakupforthebetter," she tweeted.
"Don't call me an idiot... I just gave you a chance with a sweetheart. #TheBachelorette," Dorfman added.
What do you think of Chris Soules as the next "Bachelor?"
