Kendall Jenner is demanding an apology and retraction from the actress-waitress who accused the reality star of throwing money in her face after trying to skip out on a bill.
The Daily Mail reported that the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star sent a cease-and-desist notice to Blaine Morris, a waitress at the Mercer Kitchen in SoHo, who claimed that the 18-year-old model skipped out on a bill while dining with friend Hailey Baldwin because she was refused alcohol service.
Morris claimed that when she caught up to Jenner, the reality star "took a couple of $20 bills out" and threw the money in her face, according to the New York Post.
"That horrible moment you chase a Kardashian down the street because she forgot to pay her bill to be thrown money in your face," Morris tweeted on Aug.5, but she later deleted the tweet.
According to a letter by Jenner's lawyer Marty Singer, obtained by TMZ, the model did go out to the New York City restaurant on Aug. 4, but denied any rude behavior toward the waitressing staff, including Morris.
Singer said the girls made an honest mistake and forgot to pay for their bill. When confronted by the waitress, Jenner was "extremely apologetic" and paid $33 for the meal and "politely handed" Morris a $7 tip.
In the letter, Singer said Morris, who is an aspiring actress, was only trying to increase her profile in the media.
"Although you are working as a waitress at Mercer Kitchen, I understand that you are also a struggling actress whose credits include a handful of television appearances," Singer wrote. "You no doubt concocted a fictionalized account of your encounter with my client in order to create publicity for yourself and raise your own public profile."
After reports of the alleged incident surfaced on the web, Jenner took to Twitter to defend herself, writing, "These rumors r absolutely ridiculous! I would never throw money in anyone's face or act that disrespectfully. I was raised better than that."
She added: "Said it once and I'll say it again, don't believe everything you read!"
