One place Robin Williams will surely live on is in his "Aladdin" character Genie. Eric Goldberg, the supervising animator of the character Genie from "Aladdin," posted a moving black-and-white picture on Twitter of the actor's character in the form of stars in the sky, looking down at the world.
The picture included a caption on top of the picture from Robert Iger, the chairman and CEO of Walt Disney, who called Williams "a wonderfully gifted man who touched our hearts and never failed to make us laugh."
"We're deeply saddened by the loss of Robin Williams," Iger continued. "An incredible actor and a comedic genius, Robin will always be remembered for bringing some of the world's favorite characters to life, from his zany alien on ABC's Mork & Mindy to the irascible genie in Disney's Aladdin. He was a true Disney Legend, a beloved member of our family, and he will be sorely missed. We join Robin's friends and fans everywhere in mourning, and offer our thoughts and condolences to his family during this difficult time."
Stage actor James Monroe Iglehart, who plays Genie in the New York Broadway production of "Aladdin," also honored the late actor during his Tuesday performance, by having the cast and audience sing along in a rendition of Williams' hit Aladdin song "Friend Like Me."
The audience rose to their feet for "an emotional standing ovation," according to E! Online.
"Although I never got to meet him in person, Robin Williams has influenced my life greatly," Iglehart said in a statement. "I'm extremely saddened by his passing but first and foremost my heart, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Williams family. They have lost a husband and father. We as fans have lost one of the greatest entertainers ever."
