A Tennessee man allegedly threw a car seat with his baby inside at his girlfriend during an argument in their trailer home on Saturday, The Smoking Gun reported.
John Woodley Jr., 37, punched the woman in the eye during the scuffle, prompting her to attempt to flee from the Clarksville residence with the couple's seven-month-old son.
When she tried to leave, Woodley took the child's car seat that had the baby strapped in, and slung it at his girlfriend. Woodley apparently told the woman to "take the baby and leave the trailer." She went to stay at her grandparents' house, where her mother took her to be treated for an injury she sustained after being punched.
The baby was not injured during the throw, but police have referred the case to the state's Department of Children's Services. The woman was treated for an eye injury at a nearby hospital.
Woodley is being charged with domestic assault and child abuse. He was booked at the Montgomery County Jail on Saturday and his bond was set at $7,500, according to The Leaf-Chronicle.
On Facebook, people sounded off about the incident and expressed some disbelief. Don Yaxley said the fact that Woodley was having an argument with his girlfriend inside a trailer says it all. Dennis Smith said the world has "gone nuts."
Jeffery Hopper said: "Jeez, thanks dad."
