Emmys 2014: Key and Peele, Viola Davis And Octavia Spencer Added As Award Presenters

The Emmys have added to their presenters list in a second-round announcement.

First-time Emmy nominees Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele will take the stage to present TV's highest honor. They will be joined by Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis, Lucy Liu and Sofia Vergara.

The ceremony also enlisted past Emmy winners Allison Janney, Debra Messing and Andy Samberg as presenters for the 66th annual event.

The comedic duo picked up their first Emmy nominations as part of the writing team for their Comedy Central series "Key and Peele." The show received nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song "Les Mis" featured in the episode "Substitute Teacher #3."

Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis both will be on the Emmy red carpet promoting their new series. Spencer stars in the Fox dramedy "Red Band Society" as a nurse who oversees a group of teenagers living in a hospital. Davis joins Shondaland as a brilliant and mysterious law professor in the ABC drama "How to Get Away With Murder."

"The Help" actresses represent two rising trends in television: movie stars transitioning to the small screen and TV shows casting actors of color in leading roles. "Murder's" creator Shonda Rhimes has spearheaded the latter trend.

"Shonda has always been a champion of diversity and shows such as 'Grey's' and 'Scandal' have really broken through and found success," Keli Lee, ABC's executive vice president of casting, told Variety in June.

Spencer and Davis' "Help" co-star Allison Janney will go for her fifth, and possibly sixth, Emmy award this year. The "Mom" star received an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her role in the CBS comedy. She also earned a nomination for her guest appearance on Showtime's "Masters of Sex." Janney has won four Emmys, all for her work on "The West Wing."
