In today's world, anything posted on social media can cause intense outrage - that's exactly what happened when someone posted a picture on Facebook of Tuesday's lunch from Warren East High School in Kentucky, WBKO reported.
According to high school junior Khalil Brit, a student's mother posted the picture on with the caption, "This is what they're feeding my 6'3'' boy."
The picture shows milk, a roll of bread and what appears to be a small portion of chicken and vegetables.
WBKO did say parents contacted them to report that WEHS students leave the cafeteria hungry.
But that's not what WBKO found when they went to the school.
Instead, they found plates piled high and when asked if they had enough, students said yes.
"In today's social media age, nothing ceases to amaze me," said superintendent of Warren County Public Schools, Rob Clayton.
Still, Clayton decided to stop by for lunch and see things for himself.
"We want their feedback and I've been pleasantly surprised when I spoke to dozens of students today," Clayton said. "I can't find any individual who claims that yesterday's lunch was not good."
Brit chimed in, "They'll let you get as much vegetables as you want."
Clayton said Warren County schools not only abide by federal regulations, but also "look at the best way to provide a healthy and tasty meal as well."
Since each student picks what they want on their plate, Clayton says picky eaters can exclude certain menu items, which might explain the photo, WBKO reported.
