Labor usually takes a while, but for a Texas mother who thought she had enough time to register her son for school before heading to the hospital, that wasn't the case, The Associated Press reported.
Vanessa DeLeon was in the advanced stages of labor Thursday when she went to register her 4-year-old son Alexis for prekindergarten in Pasadena's Fisher Elementary School. But instead of delivering the baby at the hospital, she ended up leaving the school with the baby in her arms with the help of a school nurse and police officer.
DeLeon's fourth child, Geovanni, weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces, AP reported.
Vanessa and Geovanni were transferred to Bayshore Medical Center - but only after she successfully registered Alexis for pre-K.
Mother and baby are doing well, according to AP.
