Ohio Morgue Worker Admits to Having Sex with 100 Corpses

An Ohio morgue employee said he had sex with at least 100 female corpses under the influence of drugs during his years working the night shift.

Kenneth Douglas was imprisoned for three years in 2008 after investigators found DNA from his semen inside the body of 19-year-old Karen Range, a murder victim. Her murderer David Steffen had appealed his conviction of murder and rape saying that he killed Range but did not sexually assault her, reports news.com.au. Range was nearly decapitated when she was murdered in 1992.

The recent confession came to light during a court hearing in which a federal panel ruled that families of victims could sue Hamilton County, Ohio, for inability to protect bodies in the morgue, reports the New York Daily News.

Douglas admitted to sexually abusing the bodies of Range, Charlene Appling and April Hicks while drunk or on drugs in 1991 and 1992. He also confessed to having sex with dead women from way back in 1976 during night shifts.

"I would just get on top of them and pull my pants down," he told the court. "If I hadn't had anything to drink when I went to work, it wouldn't happen. I would do crack and go in and drink and go in."

According to his wife, he 'reeked of sex' when she picked him up from work, reports WPTV. She also complained to the morgue supervisor about Douglas smelling of sex and booze. However, the supervisor did not entertain her complaints.

Douglas also had sex with 23-year-old Appling on the day she died after being strangled while six months pregnant. Another victim Hicks, 24, died after falling three stories in 1994.
