Apple's upcoming iPhone 6 has been rumored to have a larger battery than its predecessors.
A leaked photograph of the 5.5-inch device, recently referred to as the iPhone 6L, shows that the product will feature a 2915mAh battery, which is bigger than the battery of previous iPhones, according to TabTec.
While the battery may be larger, it is also speculated to drain more power from the smartphone. Other rumors have suggested that the iPhone 6L will have a stronger version of the A8 chipset than the standard version, which can affect the battery life.
The name for the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 was revealed by Apple Daily in Taiwan, International Business Times reported. The larger smartphone was also dubbed the "iPhone Air" in earlier rumors.
The iPhone 6's battery size is the latest in leaks before the device's unveiling. New features including 2.0GHz A8 and 2GB of RAM, an improved camera and a sapphire glass display screen, seem to be exclusive to the iPhone 6L and other higher-end iPhones.
Apple fans are expecting the tech giant to introduce their new smartphone at a media event on Sept. 9, International Business Times reported. The prices for the iPhone 6 and 6L are expected to be in the $199 to $299 range for a two-year contract. Analysts expect off-contract costs for the smartphones to begin between $600 and $700.
