Facebook To Add Stickers In Comments

Facebook has confirmed that it is testing an additional feature in the comments section that will allow users to add interactive stickers.

Facebook, the world's largest social networking site, is testing the use of stickers in comments. The test was confirmed by the social network in a statement issued to The Next Web, which will be a part of a broader roll out later. The new feature will allow users to share funny and colorful stickers in comments to friends' posts and photos.

Stickers will allow users to add to their comments a fund and expressive element instead of just using emojis. Now images can be shared in the comments section, a unique way to interact with friends.

"We are running a test which allows you to add a sticker to a comment on Facebook," a Facebook spokesperson told TNW. "Simply tap the sticker to add it to the comment, in the same way you would in Messenger."

The screenshot shared by the publication shows a new sticker icon next to the camera icon in the comments section. Facebook has limited the use of stickers to chats on desktop and Facebook Messenger on mobile. The company did not mention if it will offer premium packs in stickers, which will help generate revenue.

Of late, Facebook has been testing various features to enhance its service. The social network also confirmed testing another feature that adds a "satire" tag besides article headlines originating from satirical websites like The Onion. The move, which was reported by ARS Technica last week, aims to help people distinguish between real news and satire articles. The feature is currently limited to the "Related articles" section, which appears only when a user clicks on a link and returns to Facebook for more. Spoof websites other than the Onion were not tagged as satire, ARS Technica reported.
