The winner of the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks series will be decided Wednesday night in Game 7. In a series that's gone back and forth, the victor of Wednesday's match will advance to the conference finals.
Game 7 starts at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Click HERE to watch it live.
"It's about what competition is all about," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock told reporters. "If you're going to continue to play, you got to be successful in the game. You play to play again. ... Anytime you go to Game 7, it's been a heck of a series."
Detroit wants to put its last two losses behind them and finish out the series. Chicago, meanwhile, wants to carry the momentum into Wednesday's game. They were a long shot to even get this far, the Associated Press reports.
"I mean you've got to feel better about yourself coming off of two wins, but at the same time we're keeping our feet on the ground, the same way we did when we were down 3-1 in the series," Chicago captain Jonathan Toews told reporters. "We know that it's just one game at a time and you can't worry about too many things at once."
Toews broke out of a rut and logged a goal and two assists in Game 6. They'll need their offense on point again for Wednesday, and their defense ready to keep Detroit's scoring attack locked down.
"We're excited about the game," Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith added. "We know it is going to be the toughest game of the series and they're going to be excited as well. We're going to have to play our best game of the year, best game of the series."
