Customers craving McDonald's coffee no longer have to wait in the drive-thru for their morning brew. The McCafe brand coffee will be available in supermarkets by early 2015.
McDonald's made the announcement on Tuesday with Kraft Foods for its new line of coffee products, according to USA Today. Kraft will handle the marketing and distribution of the coffee, but the groups have not settled on a price yet.
"There is a huge demand for at-home options," Greg Watson, senior vice president of McDonald's U.S. Menu Innovation, said in a statement. "It was a natural, next step to provide customers with McCafe coffee to enjoy in their own home."
The coffee will be made from 100 percent Arabica beans. The fast-food brand will offer both roast and ground coffee including Premium Roast, Breakfast Blend, French Roast, Colombian, Premium Roast Decaf, French Vanilla, Hazelnut and French Roast Whole Bean.
The McCafe option will also come in on-demand single cup and include Premium Roast, French Roast and Premium Roast Decaf.
McDonald's and Kraft ran test sales of the packaged coffee this year in multiple U.S. markets, according to Reuters. Some Canadian chain locations started selling the coffee product in 2012.
Starbucks teamed with Kraft in 1998 to nationally distribute its packaged coffee in supermarkets. The coffee retailer pulled out early from their distribution deal in 2011 and was ordered to pay Kraft $2.7 billion in damages in 2013, according to USA Today. Dunkin Donuts started selling its bagged coffee in grocery stores in 2007.
