Johnny Depp and daughter Lily-Rose Depp are teaming up in Kevin Smith’s upcoming film, “Yoga Hosers.”
Entertainment Weekly reports Lily-Rose will also star alongside Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, as two “yoga-obsessed” girls both named Colleen. The horror comedy is slated to hit theaters on June 1, 2015.
“People always ask me ‘Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?’” Kevin Smith told Us Weekly. “This is it - but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two fifteen year old girls.”
Though the film marks Lily-Rose and Harley’s film debut, the girls have made cameos in Smith’s film “Tusks,” which their characters were taken as inspiration for the spin-off “Yoga Hosers.”
"We are thrilled to be making a teen comic book movie with Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp," Executive Producer Kim Leadford told Us Weekly. "The timing couldn't be more perfect as so many production companies are struggling to find content to fill a serious void in the market of female superheroes and antiheroes. And, it's pretty exciting to have their dads making the film with them."
According to The Wrap, Depp will be taking on the role of French-Canadian inspector named Guy Lapointe, who is on assignment to investigate the case of a man trapped in a walrus costume.
“Yoga Hosers” will also star Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman Harley Morenstein, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes.
