Chinese Man Arrested for Adding Viagra to Liquor

I guess this is an "upper" and a "downer" at the same time?

A Chinese liquor factory owner was arrested Sunday for making and selling his own Viagra-liquor concoction, according to Xinhua.

A man by the last name of Huang was allegedly adding sildenafil, the medical term for Viagra, to Chinese white liquor after purchasing the drug in January from a website, Jianshi County police say.

Huang, a businessman, intended to make a profit. He allegedly paid 2,400 yuan - $390 in U.S. dollars - for the drug in powder form. He then put 130 milligrams of sildenafil per 100 milliliters of liquor and produced 750 liters, according to Xinhua via Jianshi County police.

Altogether, Huang allegedly sold almost 2,000 bottles of the concoction: 420 100-ml bottles were sold in the capital city of Wuhan, 750 were sold in Jianshi County and Huang gave 810 bottles as gifts to friends, reported Xinhua. Each bottle of liquor was priced at about 30 yuan, or almost $5 USD.

Jianshi County officials are working to retrieve the contaminated liquor from the markets, noting that adding sildenafil to liquor is not only illegal, but can have strong side affects, especially to those suffering from cardiovascular problems, Xinhua reported.
