‘Selfie’ Couple Wanted in Burglary Case

Los Angeles County police are looking for a couple, who posted a 'selfie' in the account of a burglary victim in Southern California, as possible suspects.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department released undated photos of a man and a woman Wednesday that appeared in the online account of a Santa Clarita woman days after thieves reportedly broke into her house and rummaged through the place. The photos were apparently taken on a stolen device.

According to the reports, the couple seems to have mistakenly uploaded the selfie photo in the cloud account of the Southern California burglary victim.

Deputy Joshua Dubin said that the pair in the photos is yet to be identified. The authorities said that their investigation revealed that the victim did not have any relation with the couple in the photo. Police are considering them "persons of interest".

"Did they buy stolen property? I don't know. Or are they the residential burglary suspects?" Dubin shared. "There needs to be an explanation as to why their selfies are showing up on this person's cloud account," Dubin said, reports the Associated Press.

"Sometimes multiple devices linked to one account so where you travel if you have wifi cell service photo taken auto settings it would be uploaded to Cloud," clarified Dubin. In addition, the uploaded photos had embedded code information. This data proved to be useful in the ongoing investigation. Till late Wednesday, authorities stated that they believe they have already identified one of the people included in the pictures.
