"Jersey Shore" stars Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, 27, and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, 28, have announced the end of their tumultuous five-year relationship, People reported on Wednesday.
"We were drifting apart and not really spending any time together," Magro told People at the premiere of former costar Jenni "JWoww" Farley's new film, "Jersey Shore Massacre," set to debut Aug. 22.
The couple broke up and got back together numerous times on the show, but finally decided to part ways two months ago, Margo said. He still cares about her, and he isn't ready to get back out into the dating scene just yet, but added the break up is for the best.
Giancola also confirmed the news, telling E! News: "At this time, Ronnie and I have gone our separate ways. I wish him nothing, but the best. Right now, I'm focused on myself."
The two began dating after joining MTV's hit reality show in 2009 and were known for having an off-again, on-again relationship. Their fights, break ups and makeups in the house were often depicted during the show's six-season run. Giancola and Magro were living in Westchester, California, but Giancola is now living in her home state of New Jersey again, according to The New York Daily News.
