The Disney XD series "Phineas and Ferb" will air a special "Lost"-themed episode on Monday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof penned the episode. The episode was announced at last month's San Diego Comic-Con.
In the episode, Phineas and Ferb discover a mysterious capsule in their backyard that will lead to "very bad things" when it's opened, according to TVLine.com. Elsewhere, Perry the Platypus travels to Seattle to track down Dr. Doofenshmirtz, who has been abducted by Professor Mystery. "Lost" alum Terry O'Quinn voices the sinister scientist.
Jane Kaczmarek and Rob Morrow will also lend their voices to characters Denise and Bernie, who are capsule passengers.
A promotional still for the episode shows the adventurous half-brothers confronted by a polar bear. The DHARMA Initiative, a scientific research project featured on the ABC series, conducted experiments on the animal due to its keen memory and adaptability instincts.
No word on whether the boys will encounter the Smoke Monster or any of "Lost's" other mysteries.
The episode closely coincides with the 10th anniversary of the "Lost" premiere on ABC.
"Phineas and Ferb" will also crossover with zombie movie "Shaun of the Dead" for a special Halloween episode, according to IGN. Actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will reprise the animated versions of their characters Ed and Shaun.
The Disney cartoon series has also done crossover episodes with Marvel superheroes and Star Wars.
