In a shocking turn of events, three main stars on "MythBusters" won't be returning for the 2015 season. At the end of Thursday's (Aug. 21) episode Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage made the announcement that Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara won't be back.
It wasn't revealed why the three stars won't return to the popular Discovery show but Byron, Belleci and Imahara all took to their Twitter accounts to thank fans for their continued support.
"I guess you guys are finding out the news right about now. After a decade of the MythBusters, we are no longer with the show," Byron said in a series of tweets. "Thank you to all the fans who have supported us. The show is taking a new direction. It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world. I love you all @MythBusters. I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us."
"Thanks @MythBusters for allowing us to teach science in a whole new way," Imahara posted on his Twitter account. "Also, explosions. Now, on to the next adventure!"
Belleci told his fans that it had "been an amazing ride for 10 years."
"We couldn't have done it without you guys," he added. "You're the best fans anyone could wish for. Thank you."
According to E! News Savage and Hyneman will be the only hosts when the science entertainment show returns next year. "MythBusters" follows Savage and Hyneman as they use elements of the scientific method to test the validity of myths, rumors, Internet videos and news stories.
