The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Buffalo Bills on Saturday in Week 3 of the 2014 NFL preseason. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast below.
While Buccaneers quarterbacks Mike Glennon and Josh McCown continue their competition, coach Lovie Smith acknowledged he and his staff had completed most of the player evaluations and expects to field a team Saturday that will resemble the final roster heading into Week 1.
"The evaluation process for most of the players has been done," Smith told reporters, via the team website. "This week, the group that plays is telling you an awful lot. Telling our guys, telling our team what we think up until this point. But we haven't had extended play. We'll play into the third quarter with our starters this week.
"But to answer your question, most of it has been done, but every year, there are some positions in the latter part of our roster that will be decided by some of the play this week and of course next week also."
Buffalo is also expected to play their starters well into the second half. One area the Bills hope to improve in is their red zone efficiency, where the first-team is 0-5 through the last three preseason games.
"We've been working on it. We know that's a point of emphasis, we weren't ranked high in the red zone last year," Bills receiver Mike Williams said, via the team website. "We'll see this week, we'll see if all the work has been paying off. There are no excuses, but last week we didn't even have red zone in the game plan, so that made it kind of difficult, but no excuses, we have to score down there and make the catches we're supposed to. We'll see this week."
