2014 Emmy Awards: 'Breaking Bad' and 'Modern Family' Take Home Top Honors (Full List of Winners)

"Breaking Bad" goes out with a bang at the 66th Annual Emmy Primetime Awards.

The show ended its run by taking home the Emmy for Best Drama Series. Actor Bryan Cranston won his fourth Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama and offered an emotional "thank you" message to his former cast and crew.

"I have been blessed with an abundance of good fortune in my life," the actor said. "I did happen to stumble upon finding a passion that created a seed and bloomed into something so wonderful for me. I love to act. It is a passion of mine and I will do it until I have my last breath."

He continued: "I have gratitude to the Academy for this lovely honor. To my family I love you guys...and especially to Vince Gilligan to make this possible for me to have this role of a lifetime. Gratitude for our writers, our directors, the wonderful crew that we have in New Mexico. My dear friend, Aaron Paul, I love you so much, you were with me all the way...to Anna Gunn, my television wife, extraordinaire, I love you, and especially those scenes in bed."

"Breaking Bad" also took home the Emmy for Best Writing in a Drama won by Moira Walley-Beckett, Best Supporting Actress in a Drama won by Anna Gunn and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama won by Aaron Paul.

For a fifth year in a row, ABC's "Modern Family" won for Outstanding Comedy Series; this tied the show with "Frasier" for the most consecutive wins. Actor Ty Burrell won for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his role on "Modern Family."

Other returning winners included "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons, who won his fourth Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy; "Veep" actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who celebrated her third consecutive win for Lead Actress in a Comedy; and "The Colbert Report," who won for Outstanding Variety Series for the second year in a row.

The Emmy's, which are typically held on a Sunday, were moved to Monday this year as an effort to avoid conflict with Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. Hosted by Seth Meyers, the 2014 Emmy's celebrate the best in TV programs from June 1, 2013 until May 31, 2014.
