Sofia Vergara told her new man to stay at home because he’s too good-looking to bring into her spotlight.
During a red carpet interview with E! News, Vegara joked she didn’t ask her new boyfriend "True Blood" actor Joe Manganiello to be her date to the 2014 Emmys because his hotness overpowers everything.
"He's really hot, that's why I didn't bring him. He's too hot, he's too tall, he takes up a lot of space," Vergara said. "He's too sexy!"
Despite reports claiming the couple is very serious, Vergara, 42, and Manganiello, 37, have only been dating for two months. Before Manganiello, the “Modern Family” actress was engaged to Nick Loeb.
E! News tried to press for more details about her relationship with Manganiello, but Vegara wasn’t giving anything up. The actress claimed she’s happy and is enjoying her time with Manganiello.
"We're having a lot of fun," Vergara said. "He's a really funny guy, which is something that's really important to me, and a really nice guy."
Vergara seemed to enjoy herself at the Emmys with her 22-year-old son Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara and her “Modern Family” costars. The show won its fifth Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
The actress also featured in a skit during the Emmys where she was placed on a pedestal. Many viewers took offense to the skit, claiming Vergara was being objectified, but the actress found it humorous.
"I think it's absolutely the opposite,” she told reporters. “It means someone can be hot and also be funny and make fun of herself and enjoy and work and make money, so I absolutely think it's ridiculous. And somebody who started this, and I know who she was, has no sense of humor and should lighten up a little bit!"
