Police found two adults and two children dead in a Tulsa, Okla., apartment Tuesday in what detectives are calling a murder-suicide, according to The Associated Press.
It is believed that a 35-year-old man shot and killed his 22-year-old estranged wife, 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son Monday before killing himself inside an apartment he shared with two other men, reported Tulsa World.
Homicide detective Sgt. Dave Walker told News on 6 that the man's two roommates were not home at the time.
Authorities believe the murder-suicide happened after the wife returned to the apartment with her roommate's 2-year-old daughter to pick up the couples' children.
The 2-year-old was found unharmed in the apartment, and has since been reunited with her mother.
There are no details about the family, except that they are from Guatemala, said police spokeswoman Jillian Roberson.
Bradford Townhouses Apartments residents said the murdered family was quiet and respectful, though violent crimes are not uncommon in the area.
"They were great," Lonnie Chandler told AP. "Yesterday they was sitting out on the patio, listening to music, smoking cigarettes."
The three murder victims bring Tulsa's 2014 homicide total to 35, with four months left in the year, according to Tulsa World.
