Cut it out! There's a lot of buzz about a possible revival of "Full House" staring some of the original cast members. According to TV Guide, John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) is headlining the new project and already has the support of his former costars.
If the show does make a comeback, original executive producer Bob Boyett and the show's creator Jeff Franklin are on board. Cast members Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Andrea Barber (Kimmy), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Bob Saget (Danny), and Dave Coulier (Joey) have also expressed their interest.
Absent from that list of possible returning stars is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who took turns as baby Michelle, and Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky). Last year E! News caught up with Loughlin, who said she wasn't sure she wanted to do a reboot or a movie based on the ABC show.
"I don't think that there are plans for a movie," she said at the time. "If it were a really good script and a great project, but sometimes I think that it's better off to leave those TV shows as they were and not do reunion shows."
Stamos feels differently and is excited about a "Full House" reboot. He spoke to Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" this past winter and hinted at the possibility that fans could see the Tanner family making another television debut.
"We're sort of working on a twist on a sequel," he told Cohen. "But we don't know if it's going to happen yet or not."
Back in 2009, Stamos also said a movie based on "Full House" had been developed but there haven't been any recent updates.
"Full House" had a successful run on ABC from 1987 to 1995 and now lives on Nick at Nite in syndication.
According to TV Guide, the sitcom continues to pull in impressive numbers and averages 1.5 million viewers, up 7 percent since last year. The "Full House" reboot has not been picked up by a network yet and is still in the early stages of development.
