The Texas Rangers play the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday in Game 3 of their series. The game starts at 3:40 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast below.
The three-game series is up for grabs Wednesday after Seattle handed Texas a 5-0 loss in Game 2. The rout, which drew the season series to 8-6 in Texas' favor, saw Mariners slugger Robinson Cano hit his 12thh homer to give Seattle an early lead. Starting pitcher James Paxton also played a big part in the victory, earning his fourth win of the season after keeping Texas scoreless on four-hit ball.
"He's getting there, he's not quite there as far as command is concerned, but I think stuff-wise, velocity-wise, yeah, he's there," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said of Paxton, via the Associated Press.
Seattle opted to bypass pitcher Felix Hernandez and give Wednesday's start to Erasmo Ramirez (1-5, 4.06 ERA), who hasn't won in his last 12 starts. Ramirez last pitched on Aug. 10, when he notched a no-decision against the Chicago White Sox after pitching just over four innings and allowing no runs.
He'll be opposed by Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis (8-11, 5.54). The right-hander lost each of his last three starts, in which he has a 5.82 ERA over that span. He's played considerably better on the road, though, and has a 6-3 record with a 3.64 ERA in his 10 starts away from Arlington this season.
Texas will also be looking at outfield prospect Michael Choice, who's expected to make his second start on Wednesday since returning from the minors. He went 0-for-4 on Tuesday but is eager for another opportunity to improve his at-bats.
"Obviously my stats will be on the board but I'm not going to pay attention to that," he said. "I'm taking the approach that we're starting from scratch and it is a whole new season."
