Oregon police are searching for a burglar that broke into a woman's apartment and hid in her daughter's bedroom for hours - replacing the cartoons in her DVD player with an adult film, The New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
Police think the burglar broke into the property earlier in the day on Monday and hid in the 7-year-old's closet until everyone was asleep. The mom was woken by her daughter at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after she said a strange man had been in her room. She told her mother that she felt someone step on her bed before she saw a man jump out the window.
He left a photograph in the closet and a pornographic movie in the DVD player.
"To know that a man was in my home when I got here. To know he heard me go in there to tell my daughter 'Good night, I love you, I'll see you in the morning.' Very scary," the mom, who does not want to identified, told KPTV.
The woman said that she is still shaken up despite changing the locks on all the doors and windows in her home. Police haven't made any arrests yet.
An similar incident occurred about an hour later at a house three miles away. A woman woke up when she felt someone standing or kneeling by her bed and saw a man with his hands out like he was going to touch her. When she screamed, the man ran out. Police have not made any arrests in that incident either.
