"Glee" will be coming to an end after a successful six-year run with a 13-episode final season, which premieres midseason. It's already been revealed that there will be a time jump between Seasons 5 and 6 and the characters would be leaving New York City and returning to Lima, Ohio.
E! News recently got the scoop from Fox about what fans can look forward to when the show returns. Check out all the juicy details below:
- Rachel (Lea Michele) didn't quite make it as an actress in the Big Apple so she packed her bags and booked a one-way ticket to Lima. Reportedly she will be "the new Mr. Schuester" (Matthew Morrison), E! reports. Once back in Lima, Rachel decides she wants to reinstate and lead the glee club. (Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch, banished the club from McKinley High)
- The main cast for Season 6 includes many familiar faces such as Michele, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Dot-Marie Jones, Lynch, Kevin McHale, Morrison, Chord Overstreet and Amber Riley
- Naya Rivera will also be back but her role as Santana was reduced when she was demoted from series regular
- Max Adler will return as Dave Karofsky, a bully and football star who turns out to be gay. There were also rumors that he might be Blaine's (Criss) new love interest. His character will appear in at least four episodes
- Speaking of Blaine, he's going to get a "surprising new gig" in Lima. So will Sam (Overstreet) and Schuester
- Even though there were a lot of names left off the list of main characters, Fox said "other alumnae" will return to McKinley High in Season 6
- Rachel's new New Directions will include five new characters (all sophomores): twin Cheerios Madison and Mason (who people assume is gay but he's straight); Spencer, a football player who is "post-Glee gay;" Jane, who only joins the New Directions because the Warblers gave her a big, fat no; and Roderic, who is said to be the new underdog at McKinley.
