L.A. Lakers RUMORS: Michael Beasley Gets 2nd Workout With LAL, Lack Of Free Agency Options Likely To Put Him In Purple & Gold (UPDATE)

Free agent Michael Beasley reportedly had another workout with the Los Angeles Lakers, who're clearly interested in the forward. With Beasley's free agency options drying out, a deal between him and the Lakers appears likely to happen soon

Beasley reportedly was at the Lakers facility on Wednesday for his second workout with the team, according to Alex Kennedy of BasketballInsiders.com.

"I'm told that Michael Beasley had a second workout with the Los Angeles Lakers today," Kennedy tweeted Wednesday. "We'll see if the Lakers sign him."

While a deal isn't imminent, one does appear likely. Working out Beasley for a second time indicates the Lakers are more than just curious in the 6-foot-10 forward, whose options in free agency appear to be dwindling.

The Lakers' depth at the small forward position - five small forwards, if you include swingmen Kobe Bryant, Nick Young and Xavier Henry - would make it difficult for Beasley to procure playing time, which likely has him and his agent looking for other interested teams.

The number interested teams, though, appears finite. Los Angeles may be Beasley's best - if not his only - option in the NBA this season. Although he looked like an improved player in his limited minutes last season with the Miami Heat, teams aren't clamoring to sign him.

Even the Heat seem unlikely to sign him again.

"A person with direct knowledge cited several reasons for the Heat's lack of interest: Inconsistency, lack of trust in his defense (and ability to execute the Heat's defensive system), and maturity/focus issues, which are still a concern even though he improved somewhat in that regard last season," Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald wrote Monday.

Beasley has a history of off-the-court issues, including his August 2013 arrest on suspicion of marijuana, which subsequently led to the Phoenix Suns releasing him the following month.
