Fans of the original BioShock, rejoice: the video game is now available for iOS devices.
Users can now return to the city of Rapture on iPhone, iPad and more, after Wednesday's release.
The entire story of the original is presented on devices in the same way it was presented on the Xbox 360 and PCs when it was released in 2007, according to The Verge.
Changes made to the game include downgrading the graphics to provide a more optimal experience and increasing auto-aim to make hitting on-screen enemies easier.
While sticking to the full experience of the game's original version, the iOS version provides new touch controls and full support from Bluetooth for the game controllers, PC Magazine reported.
"BioShock sends players on an adventure to explore the submerged Art Deco city of Rapture to fight deranged survivors of a failed objectivist utopia, and genetically modify their own DNA to gain superhuman powers," 2K Games said.
Players can collect a variety of weapons, such as pistols, machine guns, grenade launchers, and chemical launchers, and can also make upgrades to their weapons at stations located throughout the city. They can also get superpowers by augmenting their body with plasmids.
The iOS version comes with other features, such as a new leaderboard system and a new profile that shows different stats, such as the amount of weapons and plasmids used and the number of enemies killed, PC Magazine reported. Compatible devices for the new version of the game include the iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display, iPad 4, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1 and higher.
BioShock is one of the most popular games of the last console generation, as it was named the Game of the Year in 2007 by BAFTA, Game Informer, Spike TV, and X-Play and won over 28 awards for its writing, art, audio, and overall quality.
