Canada Gives Russia Geography Lesson With Snarky 'Not Russia' Map

Canada has apparently taken upon itself the task of creating a map to help the Russian soldiers who were captured in Ukraine after "accidentally" wondering across the border.

Canada's delegation to NATO mockingly tweeted a map on Wednesday with two countries labeled "Russia" and "Not Russia" as a "guide for Russian soldiers who keep getting lost & 'accidentally' entering Ukraine."

The snarky map comes after Ukraine captured and detained ten Russian troops south of rebel-controlled Donetsk city on Tuesday. The government has repeatedly accused Russia of supplying weapons and funding to help the pro-Russian rebel uprising.

Russia said the soldiers were participating in a "patrol of a section of the Russian-Ukrainian border" and crossed an unmarked section "by accident."

"Geography can be tough," reads the tweet that has since been shared over 21,000 times.

Twitter users quickly thanked @CanadaNATO for the cheeky geography lesson.

"@CanadaNATO nice map, could you extend 'Not Russia' sign to other white areas. They keep 'getting lost' elsewhere," @FriendsofGeorgia tweeted.

"This is probably the most aggressive Canadian act since like 1812," @AthertonKD pointed out.

Earlier this week, the U.K. Embassy in Washington D.C. sent another joking tweet to the U.S. "commemorating" the 200th anniversary of the day British soldiers burned the White House during the War of 1812.

But users did not find that tweet as funny, slamming the British Embassy and forcing them to issue an apology.
