Ariana Grande is explaining her reason behind abruptly leaving a Meet and Greet at the 2014 MTV VMAs, after a fan's father wrote a long blog post describing his daughter's negative experience with the singer.
The author of the WordPress blog PrimalScreaming wrote Tuesday that his daughter Jen, who won an MTV contest and traveled from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to "hang out with" the singer got a quick and negative impersonal exchange before Grande walked away from them.
According to the young girl's father, Grande took no longer than 15 seconds with her fans, writing "they took an approved photo with her and that was it. No small talk. No banter."
"No 'I can pretend I care a slight bit for you because you support me, you tweeted about me and my projects thousands of times, you buy my music, and you traveled so far, while paying for your own taxis, three days of meals, new outfits to meet me in, and federal and state taxes on this prize,'" he wrote. "Let me hear the one sentence you've always dreamed about telling me."
He said Grande walked off after talking a selfie with his daughter and asked security to make sure that the young girl's sister deleted any other photos of the pop star.
Jen's sister tweeted: "@ArianaGrande My sister & I were huge fans. u made @HerNamesJen extremely sad by walking away from her & telling me to delete all my pics...@ArianaGrande my sister & i sympathized with u bc we recently lost our grandpa too.. u didn't even give us a chance to tell u that :("
Big Sean's rumored girlfriend reposeded to the accusations with a direct message on Twitter. According to E! Online, the singer become emotional after a fan presented her with a printed picture of Grande and her grandfather, who died of cancer in July
"A fan gave me a photo of me & my grandpa. I walked away because I didn't want them to see me start to cry," Grande wrote. "I am still in mourning and I wrote a letter to have sent to her afterward but MTV told me they had already left. My heart is still healing and it's moments like that that make it real again that he's gone... wasn't expecting it and [it] hit me like a ton of bricks."
In the post, the young girl's father also recalled a friendly encounter with Grande at the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas in 2011. When the former "Victorious" star noticed that Jen was speechless, she offered to take a picture with her.
"It was a wonderful experience," her father said.
