"X-Men" director Bryan Singer is reportedly being investigated by the NYPD after a third sexual assault claim surfaced. According to Page Six, a 20-year-old man filed a criminal complaint with the NYPD Special Victims Squad on May 9, 2014 accusing Singer of sexually assaulting him last year.
According to law enforcement officials, the man alleges that the 48-year-old director forced him to perform sexual acts against his will on Mar. 23, 2013. Singer has not been charged with a crime, but law enforcement sources told Page Six that the NYPD is looking into the claims.
A source close to the Hollywood director told the New York Daily News that the new claims have no truth to them.
"This is an old allegation that was leaked out of desperation to damage Bryan after the civil lawsuits against him were dismissed," the source said.
Just one day ago (Aug. 28), two civil lawsuits that accused Singer of sexually assaulting teenage boys were dropped. Back in May an unnamed British man, known as "John Doe 117" accused the "X-Men" director of sexually abusing him in a London hotel room when he was a teenager. He also said the filmmaker had drugged him.
According to reports, the unnamed man withdrew the case on July 25. In April, another man made accusations that he too was sexually assaulted by the director. Michael Egan, 31, said in his lawsuit that Singer abused him during trips to Hawaii when he was 17-years-old.
Egan ended up dropping the case when he couldn't find a lawyer to represent him. Singer has not addressed the new claim but has denied the past two sexual assault allegations, the Daily News reports.
