Razer announced the launch of the world's thinnest gaming notebook packed with great performance and portability at a press conference Thursday, held in San Francisco, California.
Razer, world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, software and systems, unveiled a new gaming notebook, which it claims is the world's thinnest gaming laptop. The new Razer Blade measures only 16.8mm thick but packs "more power-per-cubic-inch than any other laptop in the world." Along with the 14-inch "thinner than a dime" gaming laptop (as advertised by Razer), the Razer Blade Pro was launched, which measures 22.4mm with a 17-inch HD screen.
The two Razer Blade models are designed for extreme gaming experience. Despite the 16.8mm thickness and weighing just 4.135 pounds, the 14-inch Razer Blade model manages the future 4th gen Intel® CoreTM processor, the latest NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 765M GPU and 8 GB of fast 1600 MHz DDR3L memory. It features a strong aluminum chassis with backlit HD+ display featuring 1600x900 resolution, custom-designed track pad and "gaming grade" keyboard for enhanced gaming experience.
The Razor Blade model is 0.2mm thinner than the 13-inch Macbook Air. Razer CEO, Min-Lian Tan, said that the idea for the sleek yet powerful Blade was derived from MacBook Air and Alienware, respectively.
"Because we're a little crazy here at Razer, we decided to distil them both and combine them into a single reference point for an ultra-portable gaming system," Tan said at the press launch, Thursday. "In a single sentence, it's the world's thinnest gaming laptop...it's impossibly thin, insanely powerful and designed just for gaming."
Other Key specifications of the ultra-portable laptop include an upgradable solid-state storage of 128GB with optional 256 GB or 512 GB SSD and it runs on Windows 8 64 Bit. For better cinematic sound experience, Razor Blade has a built-in with Dolby® Home Theatre® v4.
"The 14-inch Razer Blade packs a ton of horsepower into a very small chassis," Rene Haas, vice president and general manager of notebook GPUs at NVIDIA, said in a press release. "The new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M GPU delivers blazing performance with incredibly efficient power usage to this ultra-portable gaming machine."
The Blade also includes a built-in HD webcam, 7.1 Codec support via HDMI, 150 W Power Adaptor, built-in 70Wh rechargeable battery promising six hours of battery life. The Razor Blade is not only designed for extreme gamers but with its built-in specs, provides a huge scope to graphic designers and video editors.
