Bill Geddie to Be Replaced by MSNBC's Bill Wolff On ABC's 'The View'

The View is getting a new production team.

The Wrap announced original executive producer Bill Geddie is leaving the daytime talk show, and will be replaced by Rachel Maddow executive producer and vice president of primetime programming for the network, Bill Wolff.

"I am so appreciative for the privilege to work on this iconic program and to have the chance to collaborate with incredible people like Whoopi and Rosie, who each bring immense talent and boundless passion to show," Wolff said in a statement. "I will be forever grateful to Rachel Maddow for six amazing years together. As I begin this next chapter, I cannot fully express my profound gratitude to Ben Sherwood for making it all possible."

Geddie co-created the talk show alongside Barbara Walters and severed as executive producer since its launch in 1997. The show's new production team includes Brian Balthazar as co-executive producer. Kathleen Rajsp will serve as senior supervising producer and Ashley S. Gorman will direct.

Wolff's credits include The Situation with Tucker Carlson on MSNBC Fox Sports Network's I, Max and serving as coordinating producer and creator for ESPN's Around the Horn. He is also a host of AOL Spotlight.

The news comes just a month after Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy stepped down from the show as co-host and nearly three months since Walters retired from her daytime chair after over 15 years. Whoopi Goldberg is the only cast member returning to the next season, alongside new host Rosie O'Donnell.
