‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 8 Premiere Spoilers: Tension Between Sheldon and Amy, Penny and Bernadette

It's almost time for the Season 8 premiere of the CBS comedy "The Big Bang Theory" and the network released an official synopsis of the one-hour premiere. According to Comicbook.com, the first episode is titled "The Locomotion Interruption," and will see "Leonard and Amy take an unexpected trip to Arizona to pick up Sheldon."

In the Season 7 finale, Sheldon left everything and everyone behind and skipped town. Of course, his departure affected Amy and that will be dealt with early on in the season. Also in the premiere episode, penny goes on a job interview at Bernadette's company "and Howard is weirded out by Stuart's relationship with Mrs. Wolowitz."

Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler) spoke with Glamour during Emmy weekend and dropped a few teasers about Amy and Sheldon's romance.

"We'll deal with it," Bialik said. "But there's tension in that first episode."

She also talked about Penny's new job and as a pharmaceutical rep and said she loves it.

"I really do. I think it's awesome for Kaley," Bialik said. "[Penny has] always been the socially dominant one in our character dynamic, so I think it's really special that she'll be competing in a different arena."

Things get sticky in the second episode when Bialik said that her character puts a wedge between Penny and Bernadette. The official description for episode two, titled "The Junior Professor Solution," reads: "When Sheldon is forced to teach a class, Howard surprises everyone by taking it. Meanwhile, the tension between Penny and Bernadette gives Amy a chance to play both sides."

Season 8 of "The Big Bang Theory" returns Sept. 22 on CBS.
