Tracy Morgan still has a long recovery progress in front of him.
The former "Saturday Night Live" star's lawyer Benedict P. Morelli told People Magazine that Morgan is "really having a tough time" following his car accident in June, which killed a fellow comedian and injured several other passengers.
"He's making incremental progress," Morelli told People. "But they'll have to wait another month before they assess him cognitively."
Morelli said that his client still depends on his wheelchair and stated that it could be months until he can "fully walk again" without assistance. People reported that Morgan has been spotted using a walker on several occasions.
The recent health update comes nearly three months after a Wal-Mart truck rear-ended Morgan's limo on a New Jersey Turnpike, killing Morgan's friend, comedian James McNair, and injuring three others inside.
The 45-year-old actor suffered broken ribs, a broken nose, a broken leg and several broken ribs. People reported that Morgan also suffered traumatic brain injuries. He was transferred to a rehabilitation center in June and began receiving at-home treatment in July.
In July, Morgan filed a lawsuit accusing Wal-Mart of negligence.
"As a result of Walmart's gross, reckless, willful, wanton, and intentional conduct, it should be appropriately punished with the imposition of punitive damages," the lawsuit stated. "Mr. Morgan was caused to sustain severe painful bodily injuries, including but not limited to multiple fractures which required multiple surgeries, extensive medical treatment, and will require significant physical rehabilitation."
