Apple's 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model appears in a new leaked video, confirming the device's screen resolution to be 1334 x 750 pixels.
Apple hasn't given much details about the rumored iPhone 6, but leaks continue to show the device ahead of a possible Sept. 9 debut. Luxury phone designer Feld and Volk released a short video on YouTube, titled "iPhone 6 Hands-on," creating a flurry of reactions among Apple fans. Shown in the video is a silver 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model, confirming the screen resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels after a boot up.
This isn't the first time details about the upcoming Apple iPhone 6 have been leaked. Apple watcher John Gruber did the math to conclude the 4.7-inch iPhone 6's screen resolution to be 1334 x 750 pixels. Now, a recent tweet by developer Steve Troughton-Smith has confirmed the same resolution for the upcoming iPhone based on the leaked videos.
MacRumors also investigated the ongoing claims using photos of the device and agreed with Troughton-Smith's conclusion. The tech blog that closely watches Apple and related products took into account the letter-boxing in the new iPhone 6. In the current 4-inch iPhone, the lightning cable starts from the bottom of the screen, whereas a small gap is left in the iPhone 6.
"Assuming this 'letterboxing' is due to the image not being optimized for the larger iPhone 6 display, it would correspond to the image filling an area equivalent to a 4-inch screen centered on the device's 4.7-inch display," the MacRumors report said.
With Apple watchers confirming the improved resolution in the upcoming iPhone, some eagle-eyed critics said the video was a fake. Their arguments were based on the color of the iTunes logo, which uses a red hue compared to the standard blue. But Troughton-Smith said the device is running Apple's BurnIn tool and not the latest iOS 7 or 8 version, according to MacRumors.
Apple's invites for its Sept. 9 event read, "Wish we could say more." Until then, take these rumors with a grain of salt.
