A YouTube video taken by a droe of Apple's massive under-construction project shows the stunning aerial view of the building site in California's Silicon Valley. The video, uploaded by user jmcminn on Aug. 24, was shot using GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition and a DJI Phantom 2 drone.
In the video, massive construction with concrete foundations and a layout for the underground carpark is seen. While the campus will not be fully ready until 2016, the basic layout of the spaceship-like structure is starting to take shape with circular walls that mark the boundary.
Apple's new Campus 2, located near the 280 Highway, will spread across 2.8 million square feet and be surrounded by 100 acres of green space, which will house 300 types of trees including cherry, apricot, plum, olive and apple. The entire headquarters will be powered using natural gas with local energy utilities to be accessed only during emergencies. The car park will take the underground floor, keeping it out of sight in an aerial view. With 360-degree curved-glass-fronted walls, the Apple Campus 2 will be home to 13,000 employees.
According to Forbes, the upcoming Apple campus will boast a secret passage, base isolators to minimize damage from major earthquakes and vast food supply from its naturally grown trees.
The video is a little more than 8 minutes and the operator of the drone stayed out of the no-fly zone by maintaining slightly lower than 400 feet altitude at all times.
